Our panel discussions are the best way to gain exposure to various perspectives on international issues. Panel presentations often complement our Great Decisions programming.

Great Decisions Great Decisions

WACNO is the statewide coordinator of the Foreign Policy Association’s Great Decisions discussion program. Great Decisions is the nation’s oldest and most popular program of citizen education. Produced by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA) it has been adopted as a national flagship program by the World Affairs Councils of America. WACNO’s Great Decisions program consists of a presentation by a knowledgeable expert, followed by discussion. These meetings focus on the eight topics that the FPA has identified as of vital interest to the U.S. To support these discussions, the FPA publishes a book that provides historical background, relevant facts, policy options, analysis, recommended supplemental readings, and discussion questions. Discussion leaders and participants come from a wide variety of backgrounds, providing a diversity of perspectives and opinions on the various topics.
