The World Affairs Council of New Orleans offers its members and their guests programs and activities that feature prominent speakers from both the U.S. and abroad. In addition, there is the monthly Great Decisions group, where members can share perspectives on key international topics that have been identified by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA). The FPA annually gets prominent foreign policy practitioners and scholars to prepare background material on 8 international topics to facilitate small group discussions.

True to the New Orleans spirit, there is also a cultural and social side to the World Affairs Council of New Orleans. On the first Thursday of every month, the WACNO members gather for a PubNite, which is a casual “Dutch treat” get-together at a local “watering hole,” to get to know each other better and share common interests. Periodically, WACNO also celebrates ethnically diverse food with a Dining Internationally event at one of the local restaurants.
