COLONEL BENSON, United States Marine Corps (Retired), commanded combat forces at every level throughout his career, culminating as the commander of a 20,000 person Marine Brigade. In addition to Command assignments, significant staff positions included assignments at Marine Corps Headquarters, Global Combatant and Joint Force Commands, and Marine Corps Operational Commands across the Globe.
Following military retirement, Colonel Benson founded and serves as President of the Global Group, providing consulting services for the development of large scale Department of Defense Global Command, Control, and Combat Support Systems.
Additional services include the following: Global Information Technology Consultant; Senior Military Analyst for Television News Organizations; Adjunct Professor, International Security/National Security Policy, the University of Southern Mississippi; Member, Board of Directors, the Center for the Study of War and Society, the University of Southern Mississippi; Member, Board of Directors and Past President/Executive Director of the World Affairs Council of New Orleans.
Colonel Benson holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College; a Master of Science in Engineering Science from the University of Mississippi; and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi.
