John Hazlett, Board Member
John Hazlett, BA, MA, PhD, is Professor Emeritus at the University of New Orleans (UNO). He taught at Contra Costa College in San Pablo, California from 1983-85, the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) from 1985-1987, the University of Salamanca (Spain), from 1991-92, and the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Córdoba, Mexico, from 1997-98. Hazlett came to UNO in 1987. In 1998, he was appointed Associate Dean for International Studies and served as Academic Director for study abroad programs in Spain, the Czech Republic, Costa Rica, and France. In 2003, he was appointed Director of the BA in International Studies Program and served in that position until his retirement.
In 2008, he was named Janet Dupuy Colley Professor of International Studies, and from 2009-2011, served as President of the World Affairs Council of New Orleans (WACNO). From 2013 to the present, he has worked as a guide/lecturer for Louisiana Lost Lands Environmental Tours.
